We ate at Il-Merill last time we were on holiday in Malta so we decided to visit again this January and it was yet again very good indeed. In fact, we enjoyed it so much we ate there twice in a week… A small but perfectly formed restaurant. I had the octopus stew which was delicious. Very good service, thank you… We loved the typical Maltese starter mix the most. Not only because it’s new to us, but truly we appreciate their Gozo goat cheese and “mailendese” (well-cooked eggplants and veggies) a lot… Booked a table for our last night and were certainly not disappointed. This is definitely our favourite from our holiday and would recommend others to book in advance…

This restaurant is a very popular family run business so if you are planning to visit I suggest you telephone ahead to book a table. You will not be disappointed, the menu is varied and everything we tried was beautifully cooked and presented. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A great place to visit.
This restaurant would never appeal to you if just walking past. However, having been recommended by our hotel we gave it a go and it was brilliant. The food was excellent, I had the white bait fish cakes and they were so tasty. All the mains were delicious and the Maltese desserts were wonderful. You must book because it is very small and also popular with the locals so always busy.
My favorite restaurant in Sliema. My recommendation: order fish and one portion is so big that is enough for two people. Worth recommending is the local dessert Jibena and, of course, local Maltese wine. Book a table in advance. The restaurant is usually full.
Visited because I had read good reviews, and we weren’t disappointed. Delightfully rustic interior to the restaurant, charming staff and the food is clearly cooked with love and care by someone who knows how the dishes should taste. We’ll definitely be going back for more.
We shared fish cakes and fried cheese to start – both very tasty, followed by the octopus & calamari spaghetti and grilled tuna steaks. Huge portions that could easily have fed a third person although we managed to devour it all as it was sooooo good! Perfectly cooked tuna and the spaghetti delicious. The date pastry desert are to die for!
